2016 Reprint of 1907 Edition. In this work, originally published in 1894, the Russian explorer Notovitch claimed that during the time when Jesus'whereabouts are unknown, Jesus in fact left Galilee for India and studied with Buddhists and Hindus there before returning to Judea. Notovitch's claim was based on a document he said he had seen at the Hemis Monastery while he stayed there. The work aroused great controversy and claims of forgery, but remains an interesting speculation.

This is the text that reports the findings by Notovitch of a buddhist text that reports on the life of St. Issa thought to be Jesus. Nothing shocking about it.
