This is a really fascinating book not only about Gould (some very small personal features would seem to be incorrect in comparison to other highly researched texts but I am splitting hairs I admit) but additionally his piano's and really exceptional piano tuners, particularly Luquist who was more or less blind but a magician on Gould's beloved CD318.
Thoroughly researched and intriguing text with reference to pianos, Steinway's particularly, how they are made, how they differ, what did Gould require, their build, action, sound, very well written. The author found a very original "take" in writing about Gould in a new refreshing way built around the technical requirements he required of his instruments.
This book is a joy to read as a Gould fan, as a Steinway fan, as a tuner fan and as just plain simply any piano/musical fan!
