To say I loved this book is an understatement. It was a great story and showed what life was like for first century Christians, slaves, gladiators and patricians. It was especially cool to read because we were just in Pompeii a few weeks ago and I could picture all the places she mentioned. This sad event is the reason we have such a clear image of life in the first century. Life was frozen in time that fateful afternoon. Great author. I'll read more of her books. Highly recommended.
