Although this is a stand-alone novel, I see now I should've read it before Fallen From Babel, as some of the characters in this book reappear in it.
It's set in modern times, but there is a dream connection to ancient Babylon during the time of Daniel, the Prophet. It's set in modern Israel at an archeological dig in the ancient Philistine city of Ashkelon.
Emilie is an epigrapher, deciphering the writing on a tablet believed to have healing power. It goes missing and she is accused of stealing it. No one is who they seem to be and there are many plot twists. Lots of action and some romance, too. Emilie also learns about her earthly father and comes to know and trust her Heavenly Father.
