Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. Jack London was my first favorite adult author when I was growing up, so when my Santa Barbara Maritime Museum Book Club suggested his cruising adventure I gladly agreed.
I'd forotten how good his descriptions were, and enjoyed his dry wit as he faced trying, dangerous situations. What began as a round the world adventure ended up as an unhealthy ordeal in the South Pacific. I'm glad I had the opportunity to read, and discuss this sailing adventure. It is a classic on par with Slocum's "Sailing Alone Around the World".
