Jack London was my first favorite adult author when I was growing up, so when my Santa Barbara Maritime Museum Book Club suggested his cruising adventure I gladly agreed.
I'd forotten how good his descriptions were, and enjoyed his dry wit as he faced trying, dangerous situations. What began as a round the world adventure ended up as an unhealthy ordeal in the South Pacific. I'm glad I had the opportunity to read, and discuss this sailing adventure. It is a classic on par with Slocum's "Sailing Alone Around the World".
