Art historian Dr Miranda Jones arrives home after a busy lecture tour on a bitterly cold night. But her blood turns to ice when she feels the knife against her throat ...The unseen assailant steals her bags and disappears. Though deeply shaken, Miranda is distracted when she is asked to verify the authenticity of a Renaissance bronze of a Medici courtesan known as The Dark Lady. But the assignment nearly destroys her reputation when her judgement is called into question. It becomes clear that no simple mugging motivated the attack on her, and that The Dark Lady may possess as many secrets as its beautiful namesake once did. Estranged from her family, her career in jeopardy, Miranda has no one to rely on in her quest for the truth. Except herself - and Ryan Boldari, a seductive art thief whose own agenda forces them into reluctant alliance. This is Nora Roberts' most thrilling bestseller yet.

IN her usual style, that you can't put the book down, it kept me trying to out guess the culpret. Enjoyed it, no one writes any better. Love her books.

Good story!
Excellent story, one of the earlier ones--well written, good mystery--you won't know the 'bad guys' until the end!

Stolen Art-Heart
Until this book I have never read Nora Roberts, I accidently found this book while my mother was in the hospital. It was a ratty paper back that had seen many patients. I enjoyed it so much I had to add this to my own collection, And when I read it a 2nd time I knew this book will be read again and again. No women can resist Ryan Boldari, a professional thief with honor and good looks no less. Charaters are all very interesting they add to the suspense, but the connection between the ethicl Dr Miranda Jones and charming badboy Ryan Boldari just sizzles
