Well-wrtten, fast-paced story of real-life attack on Osiris reactor, nicely drawn biographical sketches of all the principal actors. I was on the edge of my seat all the time, couldn't put the book down even though I knew the ending.

Short, informative, and oddly current
I remember reading about the secret attack on the Osirik reactor years ago. Not much was mentioned in the news. Israel usually doesn't, at least immediately, comment on military actions. This one has suddenly become relevant insofar as there was another secret air attack on what may have been a nuclear reactor in Syria. Again, not much in the press. I believe more information came from the US state department than the IDF or Syria. This book is fascinating. It discusses the details of the raid, how the IDF received jets originally sold to the Shah of Iran, how the jets were modified to go far beyond spec, the dynamics of the pilots, and the domestic Israeli politics at the time. The author had unprecedented access to the pilots and was able to give considerable detail and feel for the contemporary environment. It is also relatively short and a quick read. There is so little published on this raid that I am not quite sure if information was deliberately left out to protect any military secrets even though the actual attack occurred so long ago. Excellent read. Oh yes, the real reason we never found WMDs in Iraq? The IDF took them out twenty years ago.
