This series never fails to delight me! The stories are always so sweet and entertaining, leaving me with a feeling of contentment and satisfaction each time I reach the end of the books. Although this book isn't quite as good as some of my favorites in the series (especially the middle books like Aunt Dimity's Christmas), I still enjoyed it and found myself reading up late into the night to finish it. The plot is slow at the beginning, focusing mainly on Lori's slow recovery from her recent encounter with a crazed stalker (in Aunt Dimity and the Deep Blue Sea) and on her introduction to the small Colorado town of Bluebird, where Bill has arranged for her to vacation with the boys and Annelise in an attempt to help her get rid of her lingering nightmares. As she learns more about the town, she is surprised by its almost frightening resemblence to Finch and becomes intrigued by the curse surrounding her temporary home and the possible link between it and the sudden disappearance of her host's caretaker. The plot then picks up speed and interest and, with the help of Aunt Dimity and another kind spirit, Lori's able to reveal the secret of the curse and, at the same time, find a cure for her heart. Other than the slow beginning, the biggest problems I had with the book were that Bill is once again shoved into the background (I miss the earlier books where their relationship was still developing) and that Lori's character seems to be stuck in adolescent mode. She still has all the same flaws as she had in the first books - jumping to conclusions, falling in lust with inappropriate men, speaking without thinking - which are getting kind of tiresome. With Aunt Dimity's influence as well as motherhood and multiple brushes with death, you would think that she would have grown up by now. These are small flaws in the book, though, and I still highly enjoyed it
