Lorna Kepler was beautiful and willful, a loner who couldn't resist flirting with danger. Maybe that's what killed her. Her death had raised a host of tough questions. The cops suspected homicide, but they could find neither motive nor suspect. Even the means were mysterious: Lorna's body was so badly decomposed when it was discovered that they couldn't be certain she hadn't died of natural causes. In the way of overworked cops everywhere, the case was gradually shifted to the back burner and became another unsolved file. Only Lorna's mother kept it alive, consumed by the certainty that somebody out there had gotten away with murder. In the ten months since her daughter's death, Janice Kepler had joined a support group, trying to come to terms with her loss and her anger. It wasn't helping. And so, leaving a session one evening and noticing a light on in the offices of Millhone Investigations, she knocked on the door. In answering that knock, Kinsey Millhone is pulled into the netherworld of unavenged murder, where only a pact with the devil will satisfy the restless ghosts of the victims and give release to the living they have left behind. Eleven books into the series that has won her readers around the world, Sue Grafton takes a darkside turn, pitching us into a shadow land of pain and grief where killers still walk free, unaccused, unpunished, unrepentant. With K Is for Killer she offers a tale that is dark, complex, and deeply disturbing.

Kinsey Millhone seems like the modern day female version of the male P.I.s of the past like Rockford. It is pure entertainment. Judy Kaye is excellent as reader. She really brings Kinsey to life.

K is for Killer
I really love, Sue Grafton's mystery stories. They hold your interest and always turn out differently then you might have thought. Good reading.

A wonderful mystery novel
I read this book first out of Grafton's alphabet mystery series, and loved it. Main character Kinsey Millhone has a sharp wit , managing to find humor in nearly any circumstance. "K" is for Killer is written with intelligence and believability, able to stand alone on it's own in the series (I was not lost beginning in the middle of the series, but did not have to slog through a ton of exposition). It's a classic whodunit, with beautiful characterizations and many twists and turns of plot. Overall, a definite must-read for any mystery/suspense fan.

Killer
I have read most of Sue Grafton's books and found this one just a little boring in spots. However I would still tell someone else to read it if they love mysteries. Good read but some of hers are better

Wonderful Reads
I have read all her "alphabet series" so far and have not been disappointed. Her sense of humor pops out in the most amazing places and I find myself laughing out loud. She has a true talent for blending mystery, humor and character development. I always find myself looking forward to the next book and following her characters. Although previous characters are not usually essential to the plot, she weaves them in a nice continuous story line from one book to the next. Her detective work is "low tech" which makes it totally believable. I wonder what will happen to Kinsey after "Z"?
