Green hardback (gilt lettering to the spine, two small nicks and dent on the edges of the cover and spine) with Dj (two very small tears, creases and nicks on the edges of the Dj cover), both in VGC. Nice and clean pages with two small ink marks and nick on the outer edges, a couple of dents and creases on the edges of the first five pages of the book, small dent on the edges of the front cover, a couple of creases on the edges of the pages, name written on the edges of the front endpaper. The book is in VGC for its age with light shelf wear on the Dj cover and the spine of the book (slightly faded on the edges). 401pp. Price un-clipped. A collectable first UK edition.
I purchased the book on recommendation from friends. I was disappointed, especially given how much I've heard about it over the decades, how it's a classic. It started off cheesy, and then it remained cheesy, with periods of boredom and cringe. I can see where some horror tropes comes from it, and I reckon when it was new it was considered innovative. I guess. -- I didn't pay much for it at all, and I'm still kinda perturbed about it. It should've told me something when no public library in the county or two neighboring counties had it. "Harvest Home" isn't bad. It's just not good. It's fair, at best.

If you like Stephen King. . .
If you enjoyed Salem's Lot, you will like this book. I re-read it over a summer evening and before going to bed, I pulled the blinds down against things that go "bump" in the night.
