Great book to read before tackling Faulkner. Wonderful insight to probably the best American author of the 20th century. Brooks' eye opening summaries and balanced explanations of Faulkner's style and themes remains the defining guide to Faulkner's works.
Highly recommend the Brooks book to anyone wishing to better understand the depth and meaning of Faulkner's great writing legacy.
