Being, not a fan but a friend of Duncan and Gemma from their first assignment together, i cannot miss another adventure. Deborah Crombie is a fine writer, and happily, the quality of her writing has not diminished. This new story has an intricate plot, with characters from whose personalities and history the action expands. You like the people whose flaws are as endearing as their qualities, and whose relationships are as interesting as their exploits. The Bad Guys are pretty unredeemed, however, and serve as foils for the skilled pursuit of their victors.
