If you need a serious medieval outfit (as opposed to the foofy, inaccurate, fantasy kind), this is for you. It includes not only patterns for complete wardrobes (underwear, hose, outerwear, hoods, headdresses and all) but illustrations of appropriate seam finishing methods, how to make fabric buttons, and helpful hints regarding variations to the patterns, fabric selection and how to wear your medieval garb. If you have little or no background in sewing, read the instructions carefully, follow them , make a mockup of cheap muslin or a worn-out sheet, and start with one of the simple early medieval garments. If you do, you'll get good results and learn a lot . I've made many costumes over the past forty years although I'm not a great seamstress, but this book has improved my sewing and my medieval wardrobe 100%.

Good Solid Book
This is a good solid book especially for people looking at doing costuming for the 13th century.

Very Helpful
I thought this book was not only historically accurate, but also showed how to make these garments. Overall, I would highly recommend the book.
