Content: Study this book and you will be able to make an educated value judgement when you are considering the purchase of a bone or wooden prisoner of war model. These models are works of art, and represent a serious size financial investment. A quick review of the table of contents will present the scope of the subject, that is then fleshed out with the perspective only his experience could provide in detailing all the little things we look at and never see unless told. The kind of things that could give you an edge in the purchasing process. The book is of value to modelers because so little else is written about this topic. The book explains all the how's one would ask, but it is not a how-to book for modelers, no plans, etc. Context: The author is one of Britain's best known ship modelers, and also a recognised authority on this topic. He is a competent writer and lecturer who embodied all the traditional skills of a very knowledgeable modeler. Recommendation: Buy it. There is no way the price of the book will ever approach what you might save later if you plan to buy a model. The book is an easy read, that you will keep as a reference book in your personal library or display with your model. He uses the historically correct terminolgy, but it is easily understood as the context of his phraseology explains itself.
