Fun to read...and, oh yeah, good recipes too!
How To Eat is Nigella's first cookbook, and, ironically, I bought all of her other books before this one. Having read the others first, I was expecting it to be like them - full of glossy pictures. There are none, and I always like the pictures in her other books because they are honest. If a cake had fallen or something hadn't risen very high, it was right there for you to see - and take heart from! I missed the pictures in How To Eat - but I can't say that I am very disappointed, because her writing is as delicious as her food. Fabulous writing as always, and if there aren't any pictures, well, you'd better make the recipes and find out for yourself what the stuff should look like! Yummy.

a go-to book
at first scan i was certain this would not be a book i would continually pick up. and ,since i collect cookbooks i was sure i would file it and forget it. however, as i left it at my bedside, i picked it up a few times and found that her addictive and friendly attitude kept me coming back, just to chat with her, in a manner of speaking. thank you, nigella. what fun to know you.
