Our books reflect the interpretation of our historic site at Fort Vancouver: Native Americans, fur trade, Oregon Trail & settlement, US Army in the West, early aviation through WWII. We're adding inventory regularly.
Friends of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site is the nonprofit partner/supporter of the National Park Service at Fort Vancouver. Park rangers and hundreds of volunteer interpreters demonstrate blacksmithing, carpentry, gardening, and costumery. The Site was a trading ground for 10,000 years to Native Americans, followed by the British Hudson's Bay Co. in 1824, and then Americans traversing the Oregon Trail. The US Army arrived in 1849, building headquarters for the Dept. of the Columbia. Officers Row has been restored. Historic Pearson Air Museum is one of the oldest operating airfields in the nation. The Friends bookstore is filled with relevant and sometimes rare titles: vintage, historical and contemporary to the Site.
