Another fine mid-priced compilation of old-school ska from the label that brought you This Is Ska!. Unlike its predecessor, this one focuses on obscurities and will thus be of more value to the educated ska enthusiast. Of the 16 tracks, only four are genuine potboilers -- these include the Maytals' ubiquitous "Monkey Man" and Symarip's anthemic "Skinhead Moonstomp" ("Remember, I'm the boss -- look on my feet; I have the biggest boots"). "Dollar in the Teeth" is an almost-interesting Upsetters instrumental, and the Skatalites phone in a lackluster version of "Silver Dollar." But most of this is fine material that will appeal to ska fans old and new. ~ Rick Anderson, Rovi
