Just one in a seemingly endless parade of greatest-hits albums compiling Thalía's early-'90s recordings for Fonovisa. While these compilations are an economical means of rounding up the highlights from her early, now hard to find albums, you should know that this is far from her best music. Her music career really didn't take off commercially or become all that remarkable until she moved to EMI Latin in 1995 and began working with super-producer Emilio Estefan, Jr. Nonetheless, at the very least these early recordings are interesting in relation to her later, much better work. Shop around, however, because there have been a lot of these such compilations released over the years, including some from Universal, which acquired these recordings with time and gave them a better home. Some of these releases are better than others, in terms of selection as well as value and sound quality. Oro, a Universal release from 2004, is probably the best of the bunch and is recommended, though you could probably find lesser releases for a cheaper price. Keep in mind that you're likely getting what you pay for in regard to these compilations, though. A lot of the budget-line ones are less than satisfactory. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
