In the early '50s Dorsey mostly recorded commercial (and long out-of-print) music for Decca, so these live performances are quite welcome. Emphasizing the jazz side of TD, one not only hears his trombone but Charlie Shavers's trumpet and Sam Donahue's tenor well-featured throughout this album.
