It's doubtful if Stax in its prime could have gotten hard-edged Southern soul aired on urban radio in the late '80s, but they gave it a shot. The title cut was a good uptempo tune, produced in a less Stax/Volt manner than usual, while they added some synthesized and drum machine textures to try to meet radio requirements.
