Food for Feet doesn't seem like an appropriate name for this little known L.A. band. To some, that name might suggest that the group plays dance music, but Order is hardly that. And to others, it might suggest that the CD contains some type of trendy, hip art rock. But Food for Feet actually offers a fairly down-to-earth and rootsy style of pop/rock. This album isn't overly aggressive -- Food for Feet's songs are generally on the laid-back side, and that includes the bluesy "Smoke" as well as the haunting "Paradise" and the reflective "Silent Night" (not to be confused with the Christmas carol). Food for Feet isn't afraid to incorporate world music influences -- "Parting the River" hints at Irish/Celtic music, while "Blind Date" draws on African pop. This isn't a great album, although it's generally decent and indicates that Food for Feet was worth keeping an eye on.
