Mickey's Christmas Carol is based on the classic Charles Dickens book A Christmas Carol. Scrooge McDuck plays Ebenezer Scrooge, Mickey Mouse plays Bob Cratchit, Goofy plays Jacob Marley, Jiminy Cricket plays the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Giant from Mickey and the Beanstalk plays the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Peg Leg Pete plays the Ghost of Christmas Future. There are also appearances of characters from Disney's The Wind in the Willows: Mr. Toad plays Fezziwig, and Mole and Rat play characters who are collecting money for the poor. Of course, there are additional cameo appearances from other Disney cartoons as well. The film is about twenty-five minutes long and is ideal for classroom use. In fact, I show this movie on the day before my students go on Christmas vacation. Mickey's Christmas Carol is reasonably faithful to the book and develops the themes of generosity and goodwill. Highly recommended.
