This is a very well done movie that deals with the disturbing topic of domestic violence. What really stands out about this movie is the way it shows things from the points of view of all concerned and allows the viewer to feel a certain amount of compassion for those he or she might not otherwise be able to. The viewer is able to understand why the wife stays with an abusive husband, why the husband resorts to violence, and why the mother of the abused believes her daughter should stay in the marriage. Normally, the viewer might only identify with the sister´s perspective that the abused wife should leave and never look back and that doing anything else is completely crazy. While one may not want to be able to understand the reasons behind either deplorable or dependent behaviour, this movie does an incredible job of showing many of the sides of a disturbing situation that is damaging to all.
