Great movie!
Very convoluted film noir, starring Robert Montgomery (who also directed) and Audrey Totter, beautiful and mysterious. Based on a Raymond Chandler book, it's a Phillip Marlowe mystery. Filmed from a "subjective" viewpoint, which means that it's all through the eyes of Marlowe, and you rarely see Marlowe himself, unless he's looking into a mirror. Seems to be a fairly long movie, but completely worth it. Surprisingly (to me, at least), Jayne Meadowes has a relatively small but important part. Excellent acting, and the story is riveting.
