Estos dos, sin saber que son hermanos consangu�neos, se enamoran, descubren su verdadero origen y sucumben como "tiernas aves sin nido". La primera edici�n de esta novela fue hecha simult�neamente en Lima y Buenos Aires. La obra goz� pronto de popularidad y ha tenido m�ltiples ediciones, siendo tambi�n traducida al ingl�s.Clorinda Matto de Turner es conocida por muchos de sus trabajos literarios, incluyendo una revista fundada por ella, llamada El Recreo; como editora de diarios y peri�dicos literarios tales como La Bolsa, El Per� Ilustrado y B�caro Americano, por sus novelas, de las cuales las m�s importantes es sin duda Aves sin nido, y la traducci�n de los Evangelios al Quechua.Tambi�n su primer libro publicado en 1884 fue Tradiciones cuzque�as, leyendas, biograf�as en hojas sueltas, y public� un segundo tomo dos a�os despu�s que se llam� Tradiciones, cr�nicas y hojas sueltas.
