Welcome to Creative Street Photography, a collection of 270 photographs taken on the streets, parks and strands of Europe. In it you will find pictures of people, animals, and objects, both in black and white and in color. There are three parts. First, People. Second, Animals and Children. Third, Objects and Landscapes. There are some explanations accompanying some of the pictures, and the city where it was taken. In doing so, the viewer will draw his or her own conclusions as to the content and the purpose. I can advance, however, that I always strive to find a combination of elements in my pictures, be it human traits and psychology, color or lack of color, form, geometry, speed, fragility, robustness, movement, vertical, horizontal, perspective and so on. The purpose of these images is then artistic. For me, reality is the point of departure in a journey to discover the possibilities of matter, color and psychology. Therefore, never expect to find here a perfect representation of reality. Some pictures took me minutes of patience and physical agility, waiting for the right thing to occur in front of my eyes, while other pictures took me seconds, sometimes, less than one second. Sometimes, I imagine the pictures long before they appear in front of me, such as when I find a good frame and a good position or angle. On other occasions, I only have to be quick to capture it before it disappears forever in History among the lost myriad of images that surround us day after day. From this point of view, photography is both the art of patience and the art of opportunity alike. In a sense, what Photography captures is pieces of Time and Space destined to be forgotten in the long past of the Universe. From this point of view, Photography is an Art of Resistance against decay, destruction and oblivion. Many of the animals you will contemplate, for example, are not any more alive. Space will change and people on these photographs will also disappear. Here you are them, this is a monument a silent song to Life. I thank the models who kindly accepted to participate in my photography, without them the pictures would have never come to exist. At the end of the day, what would be the photographer without a good model, a good light and a good frame?. From this point of view as well, photography is an art of elections, of choosing the right interesting subject or object or scene to capture into an image. I hope that you will enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them. The author. April 2024.
