This was a good condition second hand book, the penguin classics edition. It concludes with the original 1903 ending, but also has the 1912 changed ending included,as an appendix. The 1912 ending is regarded as inconsistent with the main text and may not have been written by Stoker. I thought the original ending was better, so this version was definitely the one to have. Most versions in circulation have only the 1912 ending. If you dont know the story, dont read the intro until after you have read the tale.
I enjoyed the slow steady building of the mystery, ramping the tension to the grand finale; it has the feel of a Conan Doyle with added elements of supernatural. If you like late Victorian novels, you should enjoy this one, but make sure you have the 1903 text!
