There is no direct equivalent of the ICNT and hence this will be the first Indian commentary series serving India, and hopefully the entire subcontinent-India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Commendation: Brian Wintle's commentary on the book of James serves as an usable intermediate commentary for any student of the Bible. He provides a helpful summary of modern scholarship with frequent references to essential commentaries in his discussion. The introductory chapter provides a comprehensive review of the critical issue surrounding the authorship of James, including the theological tension between James and Paul. The primary interpretive approach taken by Wintle is the historical and grammatical method. Often, he provides intertextual discussion between James and other books of the biblical canon.
