Accompanying him in this extraordinary adventure are his professional rival Professor Summerlee, journalist Edward Malone, and Lord John Roxton. In the dense foliage of the dark, lost world, will Challenger find the proof he is looking for? And, if he does, will he survive? I didn't see that it was a condensed, edited down, badly illustrated version of the book. I still enjoyed the story, but constantly felt the loss of all the elements that had been removed.

an adventure classic
Loved this book when I was growing up. Now, it's wonderful to see my son share my enthusiasm over it.

Not what I expected.
This book was not what I expected, I was expecting the full text book of The Lost World. Instead it was a very condensed version for a very young child. Nevertheless, I am keeping the book to give to my grandson when he gets a little older.
