If you are a cat fancyer, this story will give even more reasons to like them. If you don't, it will give you an insight into a an animal so easily misunderstood and very intelligent.

An extraordinary Book About An Extraordinary Cat
I chose to read this book, based on both a love for true animal stories and a friend's recommendation. I was very surprised to find that this is much more than another animal story -- as amazing as Oscar has proven to be -- this is also a most beneficial book for anyone dealing with a loved one's dementia. I wish I'd had this book during my mothers last days. It's a light and easy read, on a very trying situation, as it provides fresh insight on this dreadful - and dreaded - condition. I highly recommend it, and will keep a copy on my bookshelf - until someone needs it. Don't know anyone facing dementia? Then read it for Oscar's story, alone. It's incredible ! I have a hunch there are more cats out there who have his "gift" -- if only folks took the time to notice.

Great Read
As a hospice worker, I knew about Oscar. Reading his story was heart warming on two fronts. First it showed the compasionate nature of the 'human' characters in the story and secondly, it highlighted the animal/human bond that I have experienced first hand.
A must read for anyone in end of life care or with a big heart and open mind.
