Sie stammen uberwiegend aus Ankaufen und Schenkungen des ausgehenden 18. und fruhen 19. Jahrhunderts in Konstantinopel, Thessaloniki und anderen Orten. Hinzu kommt ein grosserer Posten an Keramik der von den ersten archaologischen Ausgrabungen und Forschungen in Pergamon, Milet, Priene und Kilikien uberwiesen wurden.
