Nachdem Robert Edwin Peary behauptete, als erster den Nordpol erreicht zu haben, entschloss sich Amundsen fast zeitgleich mit Robert Falcon Scott kurzerhand f�r die Expedition zum S�dpol, welchen er auch vor seinem Konkurrenten am 14.
