The clear building style without and compromises turns the Villa, located at the Paris perophery and built in 1931, into an epochal piece of modern architecture. Like a box floating in the air, the Villa was built on columns; its glowing white side walls, which can be seen from afar, are interrupted only by a long strip of windows. Thanks to Andre Malraux, the Villa Savoye was classified as a historic building in 1964, when the architect was still alive. In this guide, the building is presented to the on-site visitor, as well as to those interested in architecture, with numerous, partially unpublished plans and illustrations.
