El n�cleo celular es la adquisici�n evolutiva que define a las c�lulas eucariotas. Los l�pidos del n�cleo celular se encuentran formando parte de la envoltura nuclear e, inclusive, en su interior, asociados a la cromatina y a la matriz nuclear. Los �cidos grasos son componentes fundamentales de los l�pidos celulares. Los AG y los acil-CoAs, adem�s de las funciones tradicionalmente reconocidas intervendr�an, directa o indirectamente, en la regulaci�n de la expresi�n gen�tica, evento que tiene lugar en el interior del N celular. Los AG se sintetizan en el citosol por lo que los AG que se encuentran en el N celular e intervienen en la regulaci�n de numerosos funciones nucleares tendr�an dos or�genes posibles: provendr�an de la hidr�lisis de los pooles lip�dicos nucleares o, directamente, del citosol. En este trabajo se estudian las composiciones lip�dicas as� como los mecanismos de incorporaci�n y remodelado de �cidos grasos en el nucleo celular y en su interior, la matriz nuclear.
