Wissenschaftlicher Aufsatz aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - 1848, Kaiserreich, Imperialismus, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Dieser Aufsatz �ber den Berliner Sozialisten und Reichstagsabgeordneten des Wahlkreises Niederbarnim, Arthur Stadthagen (1857-1917), setzt sich mit seiner politischen T�tigkeit w�hrend der Jahre 1914 bis zu seinem Tod am 5. Dezember 1917 auseinander. Dabei stehen seine Haltung zum Krieg, seine Aktivit�ten im Vorfeld des Kriegsausbruchs und das konkrete politische Agieren als Mitglied der Reichstagsfraktion der SPD im Vordergrund. Nat�rlich werde ich Stadthagens Haltung zur - die SPD letztlich spaltenden und sprengenden - Frage der Bewilligung der Kriegskredite besonders ausf�hrlich in den Blick nehmen. Ein weiterer Untersuchungsaspekt besteht in der Darstellung der politischen Aktivit�ten Stadthagens nach der Spaltung der Vorkriegssozialdemokratie in die (M)SPD, die den kaiserlichen Kriegsbudgetforderungen weiterhin zustimmte, und in die Unabh�ngige Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands (USPD), die sich im April 1917 aus der "Sozialdemokratischen Arbeitsgemeinschaft" (SAG), also der aus der Reichstagsfraktion ausgeschlossenen kriegskritischen Minderheit und deren Anh�ngerschaft sowie auch aus Gruppen wie dem radikalsozialistischen "Spartakusbund" in Gotha gebildet hatte. Stadthagen geh�rte zu den Mitbegr�ndern der USPD und wirkte f�r sie auch international in seinen letzten Lebensmonaten.
