Homers Ilias und Odyssee geben uns einen Einblick in den adligen Oikos, hingegen Hesiods Tage und Werke in den kleinb�uerlichen Oikos. In meinen Ausf�hrungen m�chte ich auf die Auswirkungen des G�tterkults und deren Bedeutungen f�r den Menschen in den b�uerlichen Haushalten eingehen. Denn auch der Mythos um die griechischen G�tter ist in den Werken Homers und Hesiods vorhanden. "Jeder Oikos kann unter dem Schutze der verschiedensten G�tter stehen, die an den Schl�sselstellen sowohl des Wohnbereichs wie des Landbesitzes gegenw�rtig sind."1 "Aus vielen Gr�nden stehen Homers Helden in direkter Verbindung mit ihren G�ttern, und darum ist eine vermittelnde Vorrichtung zwischen ihnen nicht unbedingt vonn�ten."2 Das normale Volk hat jedoch diese M�glichkeit nicht. Um die Allgegenw�rtigkeit der G�tter und die Verbindung zu ihnen trotzdem herzustellen und hervorzuheben, beten sie zu ihnen und bringen Trankopfer dar. Bei den Bauern sind aufw�ndige Opferrituale im allt�glichen Tagesablauf eher selten. In meiner Arbeit werde ich die einzelnen G�tter mit ihren spezifischen Merkmalen auflisten, die Ausf�hrungen der G�tterverehrung im Tagesablauf durchleuchten und die Bedeutung der N�he zu den G�ttern f�r die Menschen zu jener Zeit kl�ren. Am Ende meiner Ausf�hrungen soll die Frage beantwortet sein, wie die Auswirkungen des G�tterkults auf den Alltag des Oikos aussahen.
