Hoher Konkurrenzdruck und ein "komplexere" Umwelt erfordern rasches, flexibles und doch gut �berlegtes Handeln. In vielen Branchen geht der Trend in Richtung Unternehmens-zusammen-le-gungen und Unternehmenswachstum. So werden kleine und mittlere Unter-nehmen von gro�en �bernommen. In Branchen, in denen pers�nliches Wissen und enger Kundenkontakt erfor-derlich sind, stehen gerade Kleinunternehmer vor einigen grundlegenden Pro-blemen. Ihre Wissens- und Personalkapazit�ten sind beschr�nkt, es bleibt oft nur die Wahl zwischen "Generalist" und "Spezialist". Deshalb m�gen die bis-herigen Organisationsformen gerade im Bereich von Kleinbetrieben zu starr und unflexibel sein, um auf die Anforderungen der sich rasch wandelnden Wirtschaft einzugehen und sich ihnen anzupassen.
