Im dritten Band werden die Vorg�nge und Zusammenh�nge von bewegten K�rpern in Abh�n gigkeit der Zeit (die jetzt als physikalische Grundgr��e neu hinzukommt) behandelt. Zun�chst werden die Bewegungsgesetze vereinfachend an einem punktf�rmigen K�rper (Massenpunkt) studiert, um dann von einem Punkthaufen (der sich aus mehreren Massen punkten zusammensetzt) auf einen starren K�rper mit unendlich vielen Massenpunkten und infmitesimal kleinen Abst�nden �berzugehen. Die Bewegungen werden erst rein geometrisch (Kinematik) und anschlie�end im Zusammenhang mit den wirksamen Kr�ften (Kinetik) verfolgt. Die gezeigten (etwas aufwendigen) rechnerischen Bestimmungen von kinematischen Gr��en bei einigen wichtigen technischen Grundelementen wie Kurbeltrieb, Gelenkviereck, Kurbel schleife usw. sollen Anregungen zum Programmieren dieser Probleme und zur L�sung von �hnlichen Aufgaben verschaffen. Zeichnerische L�sungen bieten oft nicht gen�gende Genauigkeiten, z.B. wenn �bertragungen von Winkeln erforderlich sind wie bei der Konstruktion des Beschleunigungs-Momentanpols. Dann sollen zur Kontrolle die Koordinaten des Pols auch rechnerisch mit den angegebenen Formeln �berpr�ft werden. Oftmals sind die einzelnen Strecken innerhalb einer Zeichnung von sehr unterschiedlicher Gr��e. Ein passender Ma�stab, der einerseits ausreichende Ablesege nauigkeit liefert, andererseits eine geeignete Unterbringung der Konstruktion auf dem �blichen Schreibformat erm�glicht, ist nicht immer gegeben. Au�erdem ist auch der zeichnerische Aufwand m�hevoll, wenn man die kinematischen Daten f�r mehrereGetriebestellungen ben�tigt, was bei der rechnerischen Behandlung mit Hilfe eines Computer-Programms schnell zu erledigen ist.
