Five very different people, once close friends, become stranded on an island. A classic scenario, but Angela Hunt puts quite a different spin on it.
This is not a book I would pick up for pure pleasure reading. The characters are mostly viewed in a negative light, there is very little to like in any of them - and it is meant to be that way. The reader is challenged to change his or her mind about what is important in life and what may come after life. These are weighty subjects. However, through all of the griping, backstabbing, and shocking revelations, there is a ray of hope at the end. There is a fair amount of suspense here, and an ending that you would never be able to guess.
