This isn't a "my father didn't love me" book, it's a book where I process being called a spic, a faggot, and everything else imaginable by white people. Like the books before this one, The Audacity of Your Bullshit is a personal book of poetry for me. But it's also a book that carries the heaviest anger. I am angry; so angry that I can't stop shaking most days. Being Queer and Latinx makes me a target for most white people in the U.S. I can't peel the brown off of my skin.
