A Broken Story
I am a HUGE fan of Sean Michael, yet this story did not live up to previous stories I have read of his. Too much of the book and story dealt with Ard, his farm, his siblings, his work, etc. and not enough was said about West. At one point in the story you would not have known that this was a gay love story since it was always: Ard, his farm, his siblings, his work AD NAUSEUM with West making an appearance when his love life took a turn for the worse. I felt the book was unbalanced and only interesting when West made an appearance. I understand that the author was trying to convey that West only realized he needed Ard when things went wrong in his love life; and that Ard after all these years could not come 'out' to West. But I feel that he missed the mark. It always came back to chapter after chapter of Ard, his farm, his siblings, his work. Somewhat the same as I am and the synopsis tells you. Read something else by Sean Michael.
