Harper attempts to overturn centuries of comparative linguistics scholarship with an unprovable theory that English was already around prior to the Anglo-Saxon invasion. His argument is interesting but totally unprovable and not founded on solid scholarship. It's as if a collegiate junior attempted to disprove the professor's arguments with his own; unfortunately, Harper's proofs are not there, and do not allow for a multiplicity of facts in phonological and syntactic and etymological findings. Still, it is fun to see how someone might try to overturn the bandwagon. He should try getting serious about sound change instead.
