Getting out is well conceived, well written, down to earth. It sits somewhere between a series of short novels and first class investigative reporting. I bought two copies and gave one to a friend who is addicted to men who are trash. We shall see what happens in the long run - but at the moment she has gotten out and is in a half-way house.
