Seller's Description:
Like New in Fine jacket. Size: 9x1x11; Anyone who has loved the Masters Tournament, who has admired the Augusta National, who feels a twinge at the coming of springtime because it means another of those barnburner finishes in early April-anyone, in short, who may have taken that famous drive along Magnolia Lane towards the clubhouse, or dreamed of doing so-will probably be glad that the preservation of these photographs and the stories behind them fell into the hands of a fellow like Frank Christian. As well as a chronicler, he has been a careful custodian of one of the richer heritages in golf, and now, with this scrapbook, one in which all of us can richly share. Frank Christian comes from a line of well-known photographers. The Christian family, which includes Frank's great uncle, the photographer Montell, has been photographing the Augusta National Golf Club since before it's inception in 1933. His father Frank Christian, Sr., was the first Club Photographer. Frank is the owner of Frank Christian Studios in Augusta, Georgia, and his collection of historic golf photographs date from the 1860s, when the property was an indigo plantation, and later a nursery. Frank Christian's photographs have appeared in all the leading golf magazines, and more than fifty books. In addition, Frank is frequently commissioned to photograph famous courses and golf tournaments around the country.
