I've read so many good reviews on this book(Blue Book of Guitar Amplifiers 3rd edition)that I had to have it.When I finally received the book and started reading through it,it was a total disappointment. The book looked like the author copied and pasted things straight off the internet(pictures, specs on the amps,etc...)and the information is very vague. Its has 8 pages in color and the rest are in black and white.I couldn't find a lot of the amps that I was looking for and the one amp that I wanted a lot of info on,stated that it was only manufactured in 2006 and thats 100% wrong. It was only manufactured in 2005 so someone should of done their research before writing a book like this plus..there were a lot of amps and cabinets that weren't even in the book. The book gives you the MSR on an amp then it gives you three grading options(average,excellent,etc...)which is no rule of thumb to go by.If you want some info on an amp or you want to see what its worth, your best bet is to just search the web for that specific amp(you'll find more useful information in 2 minutes than you would from spending 2 hours reading this thing)Plus, this book is expensive. The only way that I would buy this book is if I were to pick it up at a garage sale for 50 cents and thats only because it makes a nice coaster to set your cups or glasses on.
