This book is wonderful to read. A child's love for a stuffed bunny is an element most children can relate too. The boy in this book becomes ill and almost dies. His source of comfort is his bunny by his side. Unfortunately this spells doom for the bunny. Sensitive children may be frightened by how sick the boy is.
After the boy recovers the bunny has to be burned as it might carry the infection. Instead of perishing in the flames the buuny becomes a real rabbit. Apparently there is an after life for toys.
This is actually a good book for explaining death since the toy bunny receives a life beyond his original one. Its not a heaven, but it can be used to explain about the after life, in a not too scary way.
Sensitive children might find the book too upsetting to enjoy.
