Seller's Description:
Herman, Josef. Fine. Folio-over 12-15" tall. pp. 136. Book appears new and unread but with some marks along the top edge, slight chipping of laminated card cove, slightly faded spine and some discolouration of back cover. Contents pages unmarked and pristine. Polish-born painter Herman first visited the Welsh mining village of Ystradgynlais in 1944, setting up a studio there and staying for the next 11 years. Eleven pages of his own writings introduce 50 pages of his trademark black-and-white washes depicting life in the Valleys. Also includes List of Illustrations, Selected Bibliography and Biographical notes. This is a particularly large book and will require extra postage outside the UK.
