It's the most important modern book written on Sufism. A must-read for any serious student of Sufi thought.

I read The Sufis many years ago and saw it was once again in print. This is a great book to give to politicians who are whipping up anti-Muslim hate speech. First, it helps define several primary facts about Islam, then details the teachings and practices of this very peaceful group within that religion. It's a great book for dismantling stereotypes - something we need today.
