I actually bought this for my 10-year-old grandson; I have my own copy in hardback (and another on the Kindle) and have probably read it 30+ times in the 68 years since I was given my first copy. It deals with Tarzan's life with the apes in vastly more detail than TARZAN OF THE APES, and if you can sublimate the racism (I just assume Mbonga's villagers weren't actual Negroes, but an unknown race) the stories are first-rate.
